Hunyong joined Gibson Thornley Architects in 2025, drawn to the practice’s rigorous approach to design, its sensitivity to place, and its careful consideration of materiality and enduring quality.

Hunyong studied architecture at Korea University in Seoul and London Metropolitan University. Prior to joining Gibson Thornley, he worked on a range of residential, public and educational projects at practices in Seoul and London, where he developed a considered approach to working with existing fabric and responding to diverse urban settings.

For Hunyong, good architecture is thoughtful and enduring, creating constructive relationships between people, buildings and their contexts.
