Daniel Clarke joined Gibson Thornley Architects in 2025, drawn to the practice’s collaborative design ethos and its considered approach to sustainability and adaptation. Since joining the studio, he has worked across a variety of public and residential projects, with a particular focus on concept development and early-stage design. Daniel is especially interested in how existing buildings can be sensitively reimagined, balancing the preservation of historic character with contemporary performance and use.
Daniel studied architecture at the University of Liverpool and London Metropolitan University. Prior to joining Gibson Thornley, he worked on a range of cultural and community-led projects at practices in Liverpool and London, where he developed a thoughtful approach to working with existing fabric and varied urban contexts.
For Daniel, good architecture is thoughtful and enduring. It is defined by well-considered details, the sensitive application of materials, and a strong response to context.
