Drawn by the practice's varied portfolio of work, Charlotte Hurley joined Gibson Thornley Architects in 2024. She is interested in design methodologies. In particular, she champions the use of sketches, physical models, and narrative building to refine ideas. Prior to joining, she studied in Belfast, London and Cambridge and has worked on a range of projects including installations for Paris Fashion Week, artist residences in Scotland and community spaces for major UK institutions.
Outside of the studio, Charlotte is a mentor through the Women In Architecture programme, has been a visiting critic at several universities and has led a design studio at Kingston School of Art since 2022. For Charlotte, designing good architecture is finding opportunities for generosity.
